A look back on a record-breaking All Blacks year

It's been another record-breaking year for New Zealand, having recorded 18 straight victories since August 2015, and despite the hiccup of Ireland's famous first ever win in Chicago, their strength is such that they could have stretched that record even further. 

In this lengthy panel discussion from Sky New Zealand, Scotty "Sumo" Stevenson, James McOnie, Nehe Milner-Skudder and Steven Bates look back on an incredible winning streak, the furore of Chicago and the controversial discipline debate after the return fixture in Dublin.

The discussion is in itself, highly intriguing and for Northern Hemisphere viewers, offers an alternative reaction to claims of All Black misconduct against the Irish, particularly in the context of a British and Irish Lions tour year in 2017.

It's not all chat though, as you can relive the run of 18 consecutive wins, a top tier record that had finally been achieved after a 57 year-long wait. It also gives you the chance to re-visit the amazing array of tries scored by the All Blacks during this time.

    Tbh, their record is very impressive considering a lot of their opposition.

    England has run up a decent record for the moment, and tbf their opposition has also come in the form of 3 wins against the Aussies, but I'd like to see a match up of the England win record for the moment and the opposition faced and the NZ oppo for their win record.

    Mate, you need to brush up on your football knowledge. Brazil have been shit for ages.

    I think it's great that the ABs have pushed the boundaries of what is considered possible. Twenty years ago you'd never think that a quality international prop would need soft hands and an eye for a gap. The ABs have made the world rethink what is possible on a rugby pitch from 1 to 15. Bloody great for the game.

    In time other teams will catch up with where the ABs are now. The interesting thing will be to see how they kick on from here, how do they get even better, what else is possible? It's fantastic.

    Chuck in the Haka, which so many of us love to hate, and you've got a great spectacle which the world can buy into.

    There is no doubt they are a fantastic team, but for Rugby to thrive there have to be more teams able to challenge New Zealand. The good news was Ireland winning and France pushing them all the way.
    No criticism whatsoever intended of NZ rugby. They are fantastically talented and at the top of their game are simply outstanding. I think however, there is a valid comparison with soccer; Brazil dominating the sport for decades, making it even more of an excruciating bore than it would otherwise have been.

    I'm not sure there has ever been a team as good as this All Blacks outfit. I don't mean just the XV, I mean the whole culture, the depth, the coaching, the whole caboodle. The way that they can be on the backfoot for ages, soaking up attack after attack, and then seriously hurt you on the counter-attack is just magical.
