Adam Hastings Absolutely Crunched By Giant Fijian Hit

Scotland got off their first win of the 2022 November series with an entertaining 28 – 12 win which was highlighted by Scottish forward dominance.

Having lost their opening game of the series to Australia, Scottish head coach Gregor Townsend needed a good performance to quieten the external noise.

Perhaps the loudest protests about Townsend’s approach to this series is the continued absence of star flyhalf Finn Russell.

Currently starring for French club Racing92, Russell’s absence has been put down to form which would appear not to be completely factual.

In Russell’s absence, Blair Kinghorn and Adam Hastings are the two options currently vying for the starting flyhalf role.

Having started last week and Kinghorn struggled from the kicking tee and this appears to have cost him as Hastings got the start this week.

Overall Hastings was solid and scored a beautiful try where he dummied the Fijian defenders to cross the line relatively easily.

It wasn’t all plain sailing for the flyhalf as the Fijian’s reminded him of their trademark physicality with a number of big hits.

One in particular sticks out as the giant Fijian second row RT Leone Rotuisolia absolutely thumped him with a well-timed hit.

The hit was so hard that you could feel it through the TV screen as the BT Murrayfield spectators let out a huge ooooohhhhh!
