Gloucester Rugby has officially announced the departure of Adam Hastings at the end of the season, after first being reported by RugbyPass just under two months ago. Hastings will be returning to his former club Glasgow Warriors for the second stint after leaving the club for the West Country back in 2021.
Although he was raised in Edinburgh, Hastings spent the latter parts of his childhood attending presidios rugby institution, Millfield School in Somerset. It was there that he caught the attention of Bath Rugby's academy, making the his first real steps forward in his rugby journey. After a short early career with Bath, Hastings made his return to Scotland, joining Glasgow Warriors in 2017.
In 2021, the fly-half returned to the West Country, heading to Kingsholm instead where he notched up 40 appearances for the Cherry & Whites, During this time, Hastings became a regular on the international circuit earning 27 caps for Scotland despite often playing second fiddle to Finn Russell.
With Hastings now heading back to his homeland at the age of 27, the move is thought to coincide with a major push for international accolades as he heads into his prime years.

“The move back to Scotland offers Adam a great chance to put his injury trouble behind him and get a run of games for his new club, with the potential to put him back in international contention. We wish him every success and thank him for his contribution to the Cherry & White jersey.
“Adam will clearly be missed, but we’re looking forward to Gareth Anscombe joining up with us next year to complement our existing fly-halves.”
