ANC Politician officially the worst 'fan' at the World Cup

Reigning Rugby World Cup champions South Africa kept their hopes of a back-to-back title run alive on Sunday evening.

Defeating hosts France by a single point in one of the greatest-ever Rugby World Cup matches. The Springboks set up a rematch of the 2019 final with England in this week's semi-finals.

Lauded for a truly brilliant performance, the Boks had to dig deep but once again showed their ability in cutthroat knockout rugby.

Whilst their loyal fans are up there with the best in terms of supporting their team. As with any nation, there are a handful who let the side down.

Politicians In Town

One such individual is ANC (African National Congress) parliamentary member Nonceba Mlauli.

The ANC are the ruling party in the republic and have been since Nelson Mandela was elected president in 1994.

Since the great Mandela, South Africa has had four presidents. Two of whom have lifted the Rugby World Cup with Thabo Mbeki in 2007 and Cyril Ramaphosa in 2019, having the honour to hold the Webb Ellis trophy aloft.

Still in power, Ramaphosa could become the second South African president to lift the trophy if the Boks can overcome England and then either Argentina or New Zealand in the final.

Looking To Get In On The Action

Clearly, Mlauli is looking to get in on the action, too, as she was in attendance at the Boks quarterfinal victory.

Unfortunately for Bok fans the world over, a video she has posted on her Twitter account has been doing the rounds.

As South Africa secured the victory, Mlauli screamed on multiple occasions, "It is a French funeral" as fans around looked back in disgust.
