The fall-out from the Saracens salary cap breach and subsequent relegation from the Gallagher Premiership continued at the start of the week, with former club player, coach and Director of Rugby Brendan Venter getting involved.
Venter appeared first on the BBC's rugby podcast on Monday to explain his version of events as well as trying to dispel claims that the club were as much as £2m over the cap to Chris Jones and Ugo Monye.
The South African then appeared on the Rugby Pod, in which his debate with Andy Goode became rather heated as both disputed claims about the saga.
Goode claimed that Saracens had been breaching the cap for the past six seasons, referring to the start of the affair in 2015, when Premiership Rugby announced that some clubs had been handed undisclosed fines for salary cap breaches.
Goode also claimed that the scandal is the biggest to hit English rugby in the Premiership's history.
Venter denied this, while accepting Saracens had breached the cap for at least the last three seasons.
One thing that is for sure, is that the saga will still run and run with various parties voicing their opinions. Saracens will play in the Championship next season, with the future of the club's biggest stars very much under the spotlight.
