During the Queensland Reds Vs ATC Brumbies game today, Angus Blyth received a straight red card for a humungous late hit on Corey Toole.
Just eight minutes into the game, Toole collected the ball in the backfield ready to return the favour with an up-and-under for himself. Before he was able to chase down his own kick he was flattened by the chasing Blyth with a "dumb and reckless" head-on-head collision.
Blyth was given his marching orders after an on-field review upgraded the previously given yellow card to a red. After stumbling twice following the hit Toole was subsequently ruled out with a concussion.
Despite being down to fourteen men for the majority of the game the Brumbies went on to win the match 24-52, ending the Reds' 14-match winning streak against Australian opposition.
