New Zealand defeated Argentina 44 - 6 in the Rugby World semi-finals to secure their place in the final against either South Africa or England. Here is how the Argentinean players performed.
15. Juan Cruz Mallia – 4
Anonymous, like the majority of the Pumas backline given Los Pumas, struggled to set any sort of platform at the breakdown.
14. Emiliano Boffelli – 7
Kicked two penalties in the first half and was relentless in his pursuit of kick-offs and chased kicks all evening.
13. Lucio Cinti – 5
Offered very little in either attack or defence. Like the rest of the Pumas backline, opportunities were few and far between.
12. Santiago Chocobares – 3
Was meant to bring a hard running dimension to the inside centre channel but was completely outplayed by opposite number Jordie Barrett.
11. Mateo Carreras – 5
Tried all evening, chased kicks, and had a few snipes but, like the rest of his backline was by and large anonymous.
10. Santiago Carreras – 4
Offered no direction but had little front foot ball to play with. Remains unconvincing as a flyhalf at this level, as he looks far more suited to a back three position.
9. Gonzalo Bertranou – 3
Hassled at the ruck but did himself no favours by appealing consistently. The All Blacks were clearly in the ascendancy at the breakdown, but he should have cleared the ball quicker when given the chance.
8. Facundo Isa – 3
Lasted just 30 minutes and had a couple of early moments but wasn't on long enough to make an impact.
7. Marcos Kremer – 6
Put himself about and was the only Pumas forward to make a dent in the All Blacks defence. Valiant in a losing effort.
6. Juan Martin Gonzales – 4
Dominated at the ruck and was yet another Pumas forward who struggled to match the pace and ferocity that the All Blacks brought to the breakdown.
5. Tomas Lavanini – 3
Disappointing beyond belief, has often been the catalyst for the Pumas as a no-nonsense enforcer but was completely dominated by the All Blacks this evening.
4. Guido Petti – 4
Like his lock partner just could not get to the pitch of the match.
3. Francisco Gomez – 3
Had his moments when Argentina were attacking the All Blacks line, albeit it wasn’t for very long.
2. Julian Montoya – 6
One of the better Pumas, but that’s not saying much, unfortunately. He has been a warrior for his country and could well lead them at the next tournament.
1. Thomas Gallo – 3
Like his prop partner, had a few strong carries but, by and large, flattered to deceive.
