Argentine Under 20 winger fumbles five pointer with tryline begging

The Under 20s World Cup provided plenty of thrilling Rugby. It also managed to conjure up a laugh or two. Take this clip of Argentine winger Julian Dominguez for example.

Playing against South Africa in the third place match, Argentina managed to swing the ball out wide for Dominguez, who showed some amazing footwork and pace. After shrugging off two defenders, things took a slightly embarassing turn however.

At this point, all that remained was to dot the ball down for the try.

Perhaps suffering from a momentary loss of focus, or prematurely anticipating five points for a job well done, Dominguez managed to inexplicably fumble the ball forward.

Doubtless, this is something his teammates will help him remember for a long time to come.

It's difficult to laugh too hard as we've all been there a time or two, perhaps even more than we care to admit. Seeing someone else do it though, it certainly makes us feel better about those times we've tripped over imaginary lines or caught a pass in the face.

As much as players are encouraged to treat the ball like gold, it's not the first or the last time we'll see this happen. Credit to Dominguez as he seemingly handled the error with as much dignity as possible. It probably also helped that the match wasn't close, as Argentina went on to win 49-19.
