Barbeary fortunate to avoid red card despite 'horror' tackle

The match between Bath and Racing 92 was always destined to be filled with huge decisions within split-second moments, and the game has not disappointed us, yet.

Within the first 5 minutes of the winter sun-soaked match, Bath number 8 Alfie Barbeary, known for his ferocious carries, put an end to Racing's attack with his own huge defence. Sadly the tackle was deemed to be well above the legal line, with the 23-year-old suddenly facing punishment of his own.

After a few minutes of deliberation, the officials decided that a yellow card was sufficient - much to the relief of the home fans. Neutrals haven't been quite so forgiving, however, with many suggesting that the call should have been upgraded to a red.
