Nostalgia runs deep with rugby fans, whether that be reminiscing about old matches, previous players, or indeed kits of yesteryear. Well, The Blues have brought all three together with their superb new/old kit unveiling.
Repping the updated shirt, former Blues fly-half Carlos Spencer has been sending fans wild with the comparisons between his playing days and now.
The fan response has been widely positive, with many opposition fans getting behind the update, as well as fans of the Auckland based side.
Jason Hoggard said: “Not a blues fan but I’ll be getting one of these!”
Anne Garrett paid tribute to the former wearer of the 1997 shirt, Jonah Lomu, saying: “Jonah…what a superstar and so privileged to have been around at the time he was playing.”
