BREAKING: George North to retire from Test Rugby

Wales legend George North has just declared that this Saturday's match against Italy will be his last in Welsh colours.

Writing on his personal X account, North confirmed his intention to step away from the international arena.

Having already confirmed that he will be departing the Ospreys at the end of this season to join French Pro D2 side Provence, North's decision to retire from international rugby is not a shocking one.

The 31-year-old rose to prominence in 2010, making his debut for Wales in that year's November series against South Africa.

North would become the 3rd youngest Welsh international and will make his 125th appearance for the men in red on Saturday when they face Italy.

In addition to his Welsh appearances, North has played in 3 test matches for the British and Irish Lions, with his one-on-one tussle against Israel Folau in 2013 going down as one of the most iconic Lions moments of the professional era.

North will depart the game as the joint 7th-place try leader in international rugby with 49 Test Tries.
