Brilliant kick pass from Matty James puts winger in for great Stade Montois try

Stade Montois scored this excellent try in their 27-19 Pro D2 win over Albi at the weekend, with Vilikisa Salawa crossing the whitewash after an outstanding bit of play from flyhalf Matty James.

After making an excellent break from his 22, the Kiwi flyhalf realised that he couldn't make the pass to his supporting winger. So he kicked it. Fijian Salakawa did the rest and it resulted in a great try.

The kick pass is obviously a difficult skill to execute, especially at top speed, but when done effectively you can see just how well it can work. It's like a legal forward pass! Well played, Matty.

Brilliant play. That is the type of play that can't be rehearsed in training. It comes about from creativity. Carwyn James would approve.
