Carlin Isles burns England in semi final as USA fly to London 7s Cup Final victory

The USA have claimed a historic first ever Cup Final win at the London 7s, beating Australia 45-22 in front of a day two record attendance at Twickenham. In the semi final the USA scored their highest ever total against England, thumping them 43-12.

Isles, arguably the fastest rugby player in the world, scored two great tries as he took a relatively small bit of space and proceeded to make England look mediocre.

Congratulations to the USA on a huge achievement. We'll have more highlights and feedback from the famous win, and the tournament in general, soon.

Unfortunately la crosse has leapfrogged over rugby in America.

I'll take a polite ripple of applause over that rambunctious nonsense any day, thank you.

Exactly, people have been saying this for 20 years and this is the first sign of it weve seen. A long way off in 15s which is a different game.

We proudly made our first cup final last year but the yanks have one upped us so... This is gonna hurt...

    Congratulations... Sigh.... :(

Brilliant for the USA. A strong US sevens team - one which the country will get behind at the Olympics - will do wonders for the development of rugby here.

That's right, think he bombed a try by dropping it just as he was putting it down

I quite liked that touch actually - showed USA putting their own stamp on a tournament they deservedly won. The chant itself is a bit annoying, but that's the yankees for ya. Their energy/enthusiasm for rugby is most welcome though.

RD - Baker scored some pretty slick tries too, would be good to see a full compilation if possible.

Players taking their time to dot the ball down might not be great to watch but it takes up some valuable seconds, especially when a match is only 14 minutes long, and it gives your opponents less time to score.

I wanna see this guy at least make a cameo in the 15 men code, if anyone is going to promote rugby in the US, they should start with this guy

USA did really well and Isles seems like a genuinely nice and modest bloke, as does Baker. But please, don't ever start chanting 'USA, USA' in the stadium speaker ever again. Nobody does that and it kind of ruined a perfect performance for me (from a completely neutral perspective).

This is so cool. I'm shocked at the improvement of the US 7s side this year. I never thought we'd see the day that a cup win would be possible. Very proud American today.

Git. He could at least *pretend* to be out of breath for a moment.

This guy is too fast. He should be forced to wear weights.

Great for USA rugby to have a player like him bringing more attention to the sport. I hope that he is fit for the Olympics, it'll be huge for the development of the sport in the USA if they can pull off a medal in that event.
