Christian Wade is heading back to the English Premiership at the end of the season for the first time in over five years after recently signing a contract with west-country side, Gloucester. Wade currently plays for Racing 92 in Paris, where he is currently employed as a 'bit-part' player for the French side.
Well before Louis Rees-Zammit broke Welsh hearts with his journey into the NFL, Wade took his own. The speedster started his time over in America in incredible fashion scoring a 65-metre touchdown for the Buffalo Bills in their 2019 pre-season game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Despite coming ‘all the way from England’, the NFL journey didn’t quite work out for the talented player, however, and in 2022 Wade swapped Football for Rugby once again, joining French side Racing 92.
Despite having had limited playing time in France, when called upon Wade has been mesmeric in some of his performances. Always known for his impressive try-scoring abilities and slaloming running skills, the 32-year-old doesn't appear to have lost any pace over the years, as displayed in our Top 14 try of the week.

Gloucester will be hoping that the flying Englishman can bring this electricity to Kingsholm next season.
Director of Rugby, George Skivington, said at the time of signing him:
“Everyone at the Club is thrilled to welcome Christian to Gloucester.
“It’s been clear since he returned from America that he has come back in even better shape and still has that sixth sense for the try line that he had before he left.
“We’ve got a pretty exciting stock of back three players here, but it’s hugely pleasing to add someone of Christian’s experience to that group.”
Christian Wade spoke of his elation to be heading back to England.
“I’m excited to be returning to the Premiership next season and for a great Club like Gloucester.
“After speaking with George (Skivington), I believe in his vision and ambition for the team and I can’t wait to play my part in that.
“I have fond memories of playing at Kingsholm in Wasps colours so I’m looking forward to getting out there in Cherry & White next season.”
