Clint Newland unleashes on Pek Cowan in Queenstown

With the current demand for highlights from various tournaments, there seems to be little time left for short clips these days. Summaries of matches are all good and well, but RD isnt a highlights channel after all, so lets take a look at something a bit different now that some of you might enjoy seeing.

The Highlanders played the Force in picturesque Queenstown on the weekend in what was a rare day game in the Super 14, the first and only in New Zealand this year in fact.

It was close up until the 70th minute, but the 11th and 13th placed sides only had pride to play for and it was the Force who came to the party in front of the 5000 fans on hand at the Queenstown Events Centre.

The Highlanders did score an excellent consolation try, but the 41-27 win for the Force was described by smiling captain Nathan Sharpe as strange.

In the first half the front rowers kicked off with monster Clint Newland of the Highlanders and Pek Cowan of the Force having a full go. It didnt last long, but its pretty rare to see any punches thrown in a match these days, let alone a barrage of them.

The best part of the incident, and perhaps the reason for posting it, would be the two pumped up players leaving the field bickering, side by side, then having to spend the next ten minutes sitting next to one another.

We'll hopefully have more amusing clips for you soon, but keep sending the requests in. While some clips may not be possible to get, others will definitely be looked at and if all goes well, posted here on the site.
