Comedy of errors leads to simple try for young winger

Tasman winger Leicester Fainga’anuku scored one of the simplest tries of his career in the Mitre 10 Cup against Wellington on Saturday.

Fainga’anuku’s opportunity presented itself after a quick line out was overthrown by Wellington inside their own 22-metre line.

The ball travelled the width of the pitch with Wellington failing to control the ball on several occassions before 19-year-old Fainga’anuku fell on it to score his second of the match.

Tasman went on to win the game 45-8 in Blenheim and make an early statement in round one of this year’s competition.
