Courtney Lawes lays into Kurtley Beale as England run rampant over Australia

In torrid conditions, amidst some contentious calls, England overcome Australia, scoring four tries in a 30-6 hammering at Twickenham on Saturday. The intensity from the home side was felt early on with this massive hit from Courtney Lawes on Australian full-back Kurtley Beale.

The rangy lock lined up Beale and in trademark fashion, levelled him with a solid hit.

Despite the hosts outscoring the vistiors four tries to none the game was ultimatley a bit of a damp squib, only bursting into life in the last quarter.

One of the highlights of this was a well executed grubber kick from replacement scrum-half Danny Care to set up Jonny May for his score.

Australia will be bitterly disapointed not only with the loss but also their ill discipline as they coughed up penalty after penalty with both captain Michael Hooper and full-back Beale spending time in the bin before the end of the first half.

Meanwhile referee Ben O'Keeffe and his TMO were kept busy all day with a number of their decisions, angering Wallabies head coach Michael Cheika.

Hilarious how he was protesting to the ref about "hitting the ball up" as if he was trying to bat it to himself and actually play the ball. He clearly swats it down toward the ground.

But equally it is a great lesson for a budding sportsman to chase everything - 1 time in 100 it will pay off

No such thing as luck, just good and bad timing

Should have been given a red..... yellow for the slap down, which has been a yellow card for a god few years now, and a yellow for his protesting.

And when it comes to contentious decisions during the rest of the game, there was one that was not contentious and just plain wrong that cost England a try in the first 10 mins - the non-knock on by Launchbury.

Robshaw could have been binned for his late charge and I also wonder if he was perhaps offside prior to the second of Australia's non-tries.Those are the only two areas where I think Australia could have had the decision go the other way.

In terms of 'luck', England were lucky that Ben Youngs kick just stayed in, but then they were unlucky that George Ford's drop kick just went wide and didn't go into the break 9-0 up.

I would have substituted Beale immediately after that disaster of the try that he gave away. Already the idiotic yellow card was too stupid for words, especially considering they were already down to 14 men, but that lazy refusal to chase the ball was unforgivable. I don't know what the Australian media made of his performance, but I've rarely seen anything so disastrous.
