Craig David and Saracens bait Gloucester fans with Owen Farrell video

Much has been said about last weekends game between Saracens and Gloucester, a game that ended in tremendous fashion. Gloucester fans were enraged when Owen Farrell avoided punishment for a blatant shoulder charge, and even more so when it directly affected the end result of the game.

Many are of the opinion that Owen Farrell should have received his marching orders well before he stepped up to slot the drop goal that won the game for the London side.

Debate has raged on from both sides over the past few days, with the Saracens social media team now adding more fuel to the fire. Releasing an unlikely collaboration between the famous club and Craig David, Saracens have poured more salt on the Gloucester wounds with a ‘rewind’ video of the now infamous drop goal.

Fans were mixed with their responses. @ruckedover commented: “ I do rate this, but please don’t start whinging when everyone hates you”, and @alanpick8 saying “ Goodness me, the thought of Saracens trying to take the moral high ground beggars belief.”

Others saw the humour in it, with many applauding the way the club played into being the villains.

Farrell has now been cited for the illegal hit, which could very well leave him vulnerable to missing the opening of the six nations next month. A regular in the disciplinary room, Farrell has also been noted by @rugbyinsideline to have committed a SECOND shoulder charge in the very same match.
