Damian McKenzie stakes claim for All Blacks starting place with sublime piece of skill

The All Blacks made their intentions clear with another romping victory last night in their final pool stage match. Last week it was Italy's turn to feel the wrath of New Zealand in Lyon, this time the victims, Uruguay, took their beating in the same stadium with a very similar scoreline.

The All Blacks were held scoreless until the 20th minute, but from then on they were ruthless as they went from strength to strength, unpicking a South American side unable to contend with the speed or the ferocity of the three-time world champions. The match finished with an impressive 73-point hall to the victors, whilst keeping their opposition scoreless.

It was Damian McKenzie's remarkable bit of skill that had fans rewinding their TV sets, however, as the utility back showed exactly what he can bring to the team. Catching the ball one-handed and throwing it back into the hands of the awaiting Will Jordan with one movement had the fans in awe.
