England run riot to rack up their highest ever score against the Barbarians

Following a one-point victory over Ireland, the Barbarians took on England at Twickenham on Sunday, but it was an entirely different affair. The home side ran in ten tries as coach Stuart Lancaster was afforded the luxury of trying out a few combinations on the Aviva Premiership Final weekend.

Christian Wade scored a hat-trick of tries, while flyhalf Danny Cipriani put his hand up with a brace, and 11 from 11 kicks at goal. Marland Yarde, Ed Slater, Jack Clifford, Henry Slade and Josh Beaumont also scored tries. Brad Thorn and Thomas Waldrom scored for the Baa-Baas.

"I've got to make sure I put my hand up every time I get a chance," said top points scored Cipriani, who picked up a personal tally of 33 in a Man of the Match performance.

"We played our England way, we played our structure, we didn't let the game get too lose and on defence we hunted them down and got the ball back which is exactly how we wanted to play," added Cipriani, who had one of his best ever games in the white jersey.

England's 73-12 victory was their biggest ever win over the Barbarians, with their previous best being the 57-26 win in May 2012.

While very little can be read into the game, Lancaster will be pleased with such strength in depth just a few months out from the Rugby World Cup. Who impressed you the most?

    Not been charged...

I'm guessing he failed the roadside breath test, but passed the station test.

Apparently it was 5am in Chelsea, he was involved in a collision with another car, failed a breathalyser test so was arrested then bailed.

Even if marginal on the booze test, he's in central feckin London. He should be getting a cab.

Not that I condone drink driving in anyway. But was this "a glass of wine a bit too close to driving" kind of DUI or "driving down the M4 in a golf buggy" kind of DUI? After all, at this point it's only a suspicion.

    LOL, i love that !
And the bookmakers now "support" Danny Care or Owen Farrell to be the next ones....

I usually dislike English rugby players, but i dislike stupidity even more.

I support that. If les Bleus could think less and run more, that would be easier to win games :)

Because the ones who aren't in the running for the national team don't make the headlines?

    *sorry.

Last I checked he hadn't been charged, but it doesn't bode well...

Why is it always our national team hopefuls that either get injured or do something stupid enough to warrant a ban?

ironically, it would be a good idea for the world cup.

Oh Cipriani you d**k head..... I can't believe he would do that. Is a game changer for England and should have been given a chance but has clearly just ruined that and can only blame himself....

Did he?!?!?!? That has to blow the cogs off the Unbelievable-Degree-of-Stupid-ometer.

Cipriani may have put his hand up; but he then got himself arrested for drink-driving the night after.

If he gets Tuilagi'd from the squad, he will be left lamenting the fact that after downing a few shandies in central London, he didn't get a taxi home. The stupidity and irresponsibility is astounding.
