Epic 100 metre try sets up dramatic draw in Mitre 10 Cup

Wellington scored a sensational coast-to-coast try from the back of a scrum against Hawke’s Bay in round two of the Mitre 10 Cup on Friday.

Two long passes put a Wellington player into space under their own posts from the back of a scrum and after a lovely interchange with scrum half Kemara Hauiti-Parapara, centre Vince Aso received the ball before the half way line with a clear run to the posts.

This was Wellington’s second try in a dramatic game which finished 27-27 at McLean Park, Napier after Hawke’s Bay scored a penalty with the last kick of the match.
