The Exeter Chiefs and former England back rower has announced his retirement from the game after nearly 200 appearances for the Devonshire based team.
Don Armand is often regarded as one of the premiership's most underrated players but he has called time on a great career.
The 33 year old has played 193 times for Exeter, scoring 37 tries, and also has two England caps to his name. He was an instrumental figure in the Chiefs reaching 6 consecutive Premiership finals and winning the 2020 European Championship cup.
In a statement on Exeter Chiefs website, Armand said,
"I know this is the right thing for me and my family. Bringing to an end a lifetime of rugby, it does fill me with sadness, but equally I go away with so many happy memories."
Since his announcement, fans have been quick to congratulate him on his time playing rugby.
One commented on Twitter saying, "Absolute pleasure watching you play Don. Wishing you every success in the next chapter of your life."
While another Chiefs fan posted, "Dammit, you are going to be missed. What a player, what a guy and what a loss to the Chiefs."
Armand said that despite feeling sadness calling time on his playing days, he is excited to focus on adventures in business, saying "The world is my oyster".
Whatever life after rugby looks like for Don Armand, he will always be remembered as a great player and a true Exeter Chiefs legend.
