Exeter Chiefs winger Hammersley falls foul to cruel bounce for Glasgow try

Exeter and Glasgow are halfway through what has been a brutal arm wrestle so far at Sandy Park in their Investec Champions Cup clash.

It iss the visitors who lead at halftime 10 - 7, but it was Exeter who ended the half brighter as Jacques Vermeulen crossed for a try on the stroke of halftime.

Whilst the Chiefs' try is one that they are renowned for as they launched wave after wave of close-range straight carries, the Warrior's try was one that reminded everyone how cruel the bounce of a rugby ball can be.

Getting the play in motion, Glasgow scrumhalf George Horne box kicked low and long with an awkward bounce.

Looking to clean up the loose ball, Chiefs winger Ben Hammersley found himself in a position that just about every rugby player has been in.

Positioning to catch on the bounce, Hammersely found himself clutching at a ghost as the ball rebounded cruelly off him.

One man's loss was another gain, as Glasgow's Kyle Rowe, who had chased hard, was rewarded with just about the easiest try he will ever score as he sprinted away untouched.
