There has been plenty of discussion over the international shirts ahead of this year's World Cup, with the likes of Scotland dazzling fans with their imaginative designs, whilst Ireland fans have been given a fresh fright by their 'minty' effort. This time around it comes the turn of England fans to judge their national colours, with many rather dubious about the price tag displayed.
Sticking with their Umbro partnership of recent times, England have unveiled a white home kit and a dark blue away kit in preparation for the Autumn blockbuster.
Using the tag line: 'From England with love', many have been left wondering what level of love they're receiving thanks to a price tag of £125 for the top-level World Cup pro jersey.
The home kit has a simple white design with very little in the way of customisation - besides the multiple lines that mark their way up the front of the shirt. Whilst simple and effective, the price tag has steered many away from updating their wardrobe.
The away shirt mixes blues, red and different patterns in a vibrant, albeit forgettable, shirt that is not likely to make many part with their hard earned cash. An opinion shared by Gloucester fan Luke Wolton when he said: "Found an easy way to save £125!".
Fans have not provided the response that England, and undoubtedly Umbro, were hoping for. Ross Hunt complained: "How much longer have we got to have Umbro designing boring kits. It’s a plain white t shirt they want to charge £95 for. Umbro kits have been the worst we have ever had", whilst Tom Gunston claimed the prices were "theft".
The general consensus is that whilst the kits aren't awful, and in fact the simple design is what many fans have been asking for, for years - it's the price tag that is alienating fans from donning their national kits.
