Rugby fans racist comments on Welsh jersey launch get called out

Welsh Rugby this week released their home and alternate rugby jerseys for the upcoming Rugby World Cup in France.

By and large, the kit was met with positive feedback as the supplier, Macron, stayed true to a more traditional style of jersey.

Unveiling the kit this week, several Welsh stars modelled the gear as it hit the market.

Two of these players were backrows Taulupe Faletau and Christ Tshiunza, both likely to feature heavily should they be healthy for the tournament.

Whilst Faletau is nursing a calf injury, Tshiunza is joining the rest of the Welsh squad for their warm-weather training in Turkey this week.

Clearly heavily focused on the challenges ahead, both men will not have taken kindly to some stupid comments online.

As ever, when there is an announcement of the magnitude of a national jersey for a World Cup, not every comment will be positive.

What shouldn’t be expected, however, are racist comments directed at the players.

Fortunately, these comments were in the minority and have been called out by fans and players alike.
