First Super Rugby Aotearoa goal line drop out sets up amazing finale in tournament opener

The first goal line drop out in Friday’s Super Rugby Aotearoa opener between the Highlanders and Crusaders resulted in a pulsating finale to the match.

Highlanders fly half Mitch Hunt took the kick with just two minutes left on the clock and what followed was a dramatic end-to-end contest which saw possession change hands an incredible five times.

The hosts came close to scoring an absolute stunner had it not been for Crusaders captain Scott Barrett tripping scrum half Folau Fakatava before he received the ball, resulting in a yellow card for the All Black.
