Five Sensational Tries from Round Six in France

The current Top 14 season has dished up some cracking rugby so far in 2016, and this past weekend's was no different, as this compilation of lovely tries proves.

While French rugby is in a self-confessed mini-crisis - with viewing figures and stadium attendences decreasing - the action on the field at the start of the new season has been from the top drawer.

Of the selected tries from the weekend's games, many had a distictly aerial theme with a few scorchers from Clermont's fly-half Patricio Fernandez during their 23-21 defeat to Toulon and Charley Malie who touched down in Pau's 39-38 away win at Grenoble.

But the pick of the bunch surely had to go to Toulouse's winger Alexis Pallison who, after latching onto a pass from Number 8 Gillian Galan, completed a brilliant solo chip-and-chase effort to score.

There were honourable mentions for Grenoble's Fabrice Estebanez who rounded off a neat team try and La Rochelle's Vincent Rattez who scored a long-distance effort against Bayonne.
