With the six nations just around the corner, the international coaches have the exciting task of picking their squads. They have the full pick of the greatest players in their country...and now of other countries.
The law was introduced a while ago to allow players to switch international allegiances if they hadn't played for their country in over three years, a law that greatly benefited the likes of Tonga and Samoa with the inclusion of former All Blacks and Wallabies players. Well, now it's benefitting the northern hemisphere sides too, in the shape of Scotland.
Former England winger, Ruaridh McConnochie, has been called up to the Scotland squad ahead of this year's six nations. McConnichie last wore the white of England back in 2019 at the Rugby World Cup in Japan, and even went on to score a try against the USA in the group stages.
England's loss is Scotland's gain, as the Bath winger will pair up with club teammates Cameron Redpath and Josh Bayliss as he looks to break into the Scotland starting team, the country of his parents.
