A brilliant new montage of Australia legend Quade Cooper has been put together which highlights the unquestionable talent of the playmaker.
The 33-year-old was called up to the Wallabies camps ahead of their Rugby Championship games against the All Blacks and head coach Dave Rennie has hinted that the fly half could play in the final Bledisloe Cup match in September.
“He’s been fantastic in the group. Can’t speak highly enough of him,” said Rennie of Cooper.
“Even when we had a few days off at the front of the week, he was driving a lot of the training and additional stuff a number of the boys were doing out on the field here or down at the gym.
“He’s been a big contributor to all meetings and discussions and prepared to share his mileage and he’s trained really well.
“His ability for pass selection or kicking options has been spot on and it’s been really good, from a training perspective, for us.
“He’s pretty much been running the New Zealand play, so he’s been great, and he’s applying pressure on us for selection.”
With 70 international appearances to his name Cooper was one of the most exciting players in world rugby during the earlier stages of his career, but hasn’t played for Australia since 2017.
His unbelievable handling skills made the fly half a true maverick in attack while his vision and lethal sidestep opened up the very best defences in the world on multiple occasions.
The following four-minute montage has been compiled by YouTuber Andrew Forde and highlights the ridiculous skillset of Cooper, who now plays his club rugby for Kintetsu Liners in Japan.
As well as an illustrious international career, Cooper has also made more than 100 appearances for the Queensland Reds and played a pivotal role in their 2011 Super Rugby title.
