After losing the first Test to Argentina 30-19, France turned things around in Tucuman to draw the series 1-1 with a convincing 27-0 victory on Saturday. Hugo Bonneval, Remi Lamerat and Loann Goujon scored a try each while Baptiste Serin kicked three conversions and two penalties.

Argentina lock Tomas Lavanini had just returned from a two-match suspension but received another yellow card for diving on the back of a tryscorer. He did the same thing against the Cheetahs in Super Rugby in February.

World Rankings:

With the win, France move up two places from their lowest ever position of ninth last week, to now be in seventh position. Argentina on the other hand drop four places, from fifth to ninth.

As a Saints fan, I'm thoroughly looking forward to Picamoles contribution. Always rated him.

Agreed on that back row. Well, that's unless someone could clone Picamoles...

I'm not a French supporter by any stretch, but I love seeing them do well and I 100% agree with you on Trinh-Duc, I think it's abysmal he's been ignored for such an extended period of his career.

I did not expect that at all, very pleased of course! I was hoping for France to do better, but how could Argentina do so badly after playing so well in the WC only months ago?

on the other hand, it's infuriating to see Trin Duc play well after not being awarded a spot in the squad for so long. anyways....hope it's a sign of better days to come for Les Bleus!

It was pretty hard to find a place to watch that game with all that soccer going on! Eventually, home streaming was the only option! I guess not many people watched it but still i'd like to hear unbiased opinions on that game! It was a real massacre... Two or three other tries could have been scored, and a couple of penalties. Could have been 50-0.
Do you think the Pumas were drunk or something? I'd like to rejoyce but do not dare.
Anyway some really good news for the french with this "B team" performing well. Serin looks like an exceptionnal scrum half.

How typically French.... lose the first match by a fair few points then complete blitz the opposition by a load....

Consistently inconsistent is why we love French rugby!
