If you missed this, here is a look at Welsh prop Adam Jones' drop goal attempt in the Guinness Pro 12 match against Munster recently. With scores tied and time running out, the Cardiff Blues front rower found himself in front of goal with a perfect opportunity, so gave it a shot.

In all fairness it wasn't a bad attempt, and the Blues did have the penalty advantage.

Munster went on to score a late try though, so won the game 28-24.

But the commentators have all misjudged AJ decision to kick, no it wasn't panic, far from it ....it was a kick to nothing for the PK advantage being played..... Cute quick thinking more like.

Cmon, get better chatshitters under the mic !

5 more yards and he would have got that. Very accurate for a 'snatched' kick... if he connected properly and put some weight through the ball, he would have cleared the stands!

Poor Matt Dunning, for the next century (or at least until we get rugby league scrums and props change body type) whenever a front rower even considers kicking a ball, his name will come up. It's one of rugby's great stories, along with Umaga hand bagging Masoe to tears.

Was that some repressed dream that was allowed to briefly escape their from Mr Jones?

"Dad, when I grow up I want to be a fly half"

"I'll not hear you talk about becoming one of them fairies boyo, get another pie down you!"
