Friday Funnies - Referee JP Doyle gets hit in the face by the ball

Referee JP Doyle had his earpiece knocked out last weekend as Gloucester met Worcester Warriors in the Aviva Premiership. Doyle found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time as a kick ahead pinged him directly on the side of the head, providing an amusing moment for the commentators.

    Thought it was funny how the commentator initially thought it was a charge down!

    The referee also seemed in good humour, I liked the "was it you?" bit.

    I see RD, as usual, is on the fence when it comes to the critical issue. Is this a falcon?

    I vote no. But whatever it is - a kestrel maybe? - it was textbook. Floored Doyle, no lasting damage, and all taken in good humour. Nice work.
