Former Wales star Gavin Henson was knocked out by a teammate in a pub in Bath on Wednesday night. Mobile phone footage of the incident has emerged, showing Henson in an altercation with what appears to be Carl Fearns, who floored him with one punch.

Due to injury and controversial incidents, 31-year-old Henson has done the rounds since leaving Ospreys in 2010. He had a short stint with Saracens before being given a chance at Toulon, but that didn't materialise after an altercation in a pub, where he reportedly insulted Jonny Wilkinson.

He was suspended and released from the club. He later moved to Cardiff Blues, but that contract was terminated after drunken antics on a flight included the former Bachelor and Strictly Come Dancing star throwing ice at airline stewards.

Out in the wilderness again, Henson then moved to London Welsh, but after they were relegated, he moved to Bath last month. This latest controversy won't do his reputation any good, and the incident is being investigated by Bath authorities.

He is alleged to have been 'swanning around like he owned the place' at a local pub before being asked to tone it down. An argument ensued and as can be seen in the video, he was knocked out cold with one punch from what is alleged to be teammate Carl Fearns.

Henson lay prone on the bar floor for a few minutes before he was picked up and seated in a chair in the corner, but was reportedly spotted talking with Fearns and the rest of the players, ten or so that were there that night, before they later left.

Chief executive of Bath RFC, Nick Blofeld said: "We are speaking to all those involved to clarify the situation. When we have all the facts, we will make any appropriate statement."

I think there is a strong case for "initiation" here... Carl Fearns being the 'new boy', maybe it's a new requirement at Bath to KO Henson, perhaps we will see more videos of new comers doing the same in the future...

Morality : when you got very small brain, arms, balls and liver, you'd better have big fists.

No idea think he's back in NZ..

Henson is always in the shit.... with only speculation/non concrete words.. I'd still put money on it being his fault this time...

I actually came on this video for a laugh, and as funny as it was, it's also very sad. It is sad that Henson has now added "getting KO'd in a pub" to his resume, but it is more sad that he has had blunder after blunder... And what's worse is that anyone with his many blunders would have been cut loose and left to drift into fourth tier rugby or beyond long ago, yet people have looked at him, seen the undoubtably great player he once was and have said "we have all had our problems, lets give him a break" and he has let then down. What's EVEN more sad is it has happened 3-4 times now???

I think he needs an ego adjustment, when he taken on by one of the clubs he kicked off because he wasn't starting straight away etc... Also seems like he has a problem with alcohol too... Perhaps he should ask the player he insulted (JW) for tips, cos that man doesn't appear to have let his career go down the pan!

    As I said, sad really.

    ...but a wicked jab!

Last time I checked Henson was a rugby player... So it kinda is rugby news.

We had information on Jerry Collins in Japan and now we have this. Although I don't want thousands of "everyday" lives videos, a few now and again show us they are human...

Froliks is spot on. If this was a video involving any other human being, everyone would have regarded him as the victim. Now he seems to be the purpotrator. Quite pathetic actually.

He's had quite a few chances at this stage. I don't blame him for getting punched. I do blame him for getting up in the face of a bloke with a handy right jab. He was asking for it.

Man gets punched: man punched is blamed.
Give the guy a flippin' chance. He may have been a prat but getting punched isn't a crime.

The biggest surprise here is that anyone was trying to hold Carl Fearns back.

That was a snap jab with no leverage. Henson's a soft touch.
