Hard hitting number eight Chris Hala'ufia takes out streaker with big tackle

Last weekend London Welsh number eight Chris Hala'fia had quite an eventful match against Leicester Tigers. First he demolished a streaker that took to the field, then he was shown a straight red card for shoving a player's face into the ground after a big hit. More on that soon.

For now, you can see the tackle - no pun intended - in the video and pics here. The hit was pretty big, but the man in question popped straight up, no doubt fuelled by dutch courage and a whole lot of adrenaline.

Unfortunately the quality of the video isn't great but credit to whoever filmed it anyway. If there are any other versions out there, please let us know.

It's similar to what Olly Barkley did a few years back, and what a few security guards have done, albeit a little too heavy-handedly, at times. More of that in the Related Posts.

It's probably quite an honour to be smashed by him...

I have no problem with Chris "Baby Eater" Hala'ufia tackling the streaker....as long as it's not a tip tackle. If respect is the foundation of the game, then the fan needs to exercise some of that same characteristic while the lads are performing their job. You jump the railing, you get what you get and don't throw a fit.

As far as I'm concerned his actions (the head slam) were absolutely deserving of a red card. That kind of behaviour has absolutely no place in our game and only seeks to undermine the foundation of the game; respect. I also think the subsequent suspension is warranted, if even a bit too lenient.

I'd be very interested in seeing the red card incident. I'm not a fan of pushing players faces in the ground, however a card seems a bit strong, especially a red.
