Back in 2014 Springboks legend François Steyn was shown a yellow card for a late hit on super star Cheslin Kolbe in a Super Rugby grudge match.
The veteran was representing the Sharks when he was sent to the sin bin by referee Jaco Peyper in the final 10 minutes of an intense game against the Stormers at the Newlands Rugby Stadium.
Kolbe, just 20-years-old at the time, gathered a loose ball on the halfway line and attempted a chip over the defensive line until he was met by the solid shoulder of Steyn.
Having made the crunching hit, Steyn knew he was in trouble and started heading towards the touchline before the referee had even put his hand in his pocket.
The fly half was clearly wound up by this stage, as he gave an ironic applause to the home fans in Newlands as they jeered off the Springboks playmaker. (VIDEO HAS NO SOUND)
Remarkably both players went on to feature in the same Springboks squad which won the most recent Rugby World Cup in Japan and took down the British & Irish Lions earlier this year.
Steyn, now 34, has earned 71 caps for South Africa since earning his debut back in 2006 and now plays his club rugby with the Cheetahs.
Kolbe, now in the peak of his career, is widely regarded as one of the world’s best wingers and plays for Toulouse in the French Top 14. The now 27-year-old is best known for his electric footwork, blistering pace and bravery in defence, making him one of the best-loved payers in the game standing at just 5ft 7" (1.7m).
His try in the 2019 World Cup final has become an iconic piece of footage which shows him step inside England's Owen Farrell en route to the try line and the following montage demonstrates just how dangerous he is with the ball.
