The Heineken Cup is in full swing as Round 2 of matches across Europe were completed this past weekend. We're catching up with that and all the other rugby that's gone on, but for now here is a look at some of the best tries that were scored in Round 1.

This past weekend there was the Bledisloe Cup in Brisbane, the ITM Cup Championship and Premiership semifinals in New Zealand, the Currie Cup semifinals in South Africa, and then of course the Amlin Challenge Cup and Heineken Cup up north.

Needless to say, it's a lot to take in, so while there have been some mumblings about a lack of highlights on here, please bear in mind that every effort is being made to bring you the best clips. Your contributions are needed though, if not in the form of video, then at least with requests.

If you see something noteworthy, please get in touch. The majority of the time it'll be taken care of but in such busy periods, the chances are that you've spotted something that RD has missed.

There were some fantastic tries scored in the opening round, and we've got a mix of the best of them for you below, fourteen in total. They're in no particular order, but which are your favourite?

Round 2 will be featured soon, so your patience (and feedback on this one) is appreciated.

not the best try or anything, but that pass from cirpiani was absolute class, if only he could defend, god knows the boy can run an attacking game!

I had the Botha dummy at 2nd (Cardiff's first featured try being on top), and the Ulster counter at 3rd.

You can read my mind (PS Big fan of French rugby so no intention to offend anyone. Just seemed funny to bring something up that happened lightyears ago ;-)

Agreed, especially on that Treviso try, as well as the last defender(s) Pienaar had to beat. Hardly stepped them at all and they both open up like the red sea

clearly Bakkies prefering the dummy rather to make a crash test dummy
there's also few nice steps on a ospreys try

At some moments the defense is completely MIA . It makes for some entertaining rugby I have to say. I thought they were all pretty good.

Loved the Pienaar try too! Bakkies...hmmmm, it's not the first time we have seen French defenders diving away when a big guy comes rampaging their way.

What a competition! Now flooded with stars from the southern hemisphere as well!

Mind you a few of the games I saw were pretty boring...

The Bakkies Botha dummy & hands over the tackle earns my vote. And the great Ulster counter-attack deserves a special mention too.
