How will the Six Nations stars fare at RWC 2015? Conor O'Shea goes through them

Former Ireland international and current Harlequins head coach Conor O'Shea recently sat down with World Rugby to discuss the Six Nations stars who will impress when the Rugby World Cup rolls into England in 162 days.

Finn Russell will apparently become "a heck of a player" for Scotland, while he was also impressed with Stuart Hogg at 15 and Jonny Gray who "is young but still a key player".

For Italy, O'Shea can't look past the "untouchable" Sergio Parisse, but he also stressed the need for a goal-kicking 10.

Morgan Parra and Francois Trinh-Duc were the French picks despite hardly featuring over the spring, while Wales' biggest issue is if tighthead prop Samson Lee can be match fit before the start of the tournament.

England was more difficult but O'Shea says the player that they need back is Manu Tuilagi, while he could have chosen a whole host of players for Ireland but "Jonny Sexton is Joe Schmidt on the pitch".

Which country can go the furthest? Apparently it's hard to look beyond England at home and Ireland form-wise, especially if the Irish can keep their key players like Sean O'Brien and Cian Healy fit. Those two to play each other in the semi-final before playing a southern hemisphere country in the final.

Is there anybody you think he missed? Who will be your country's shining light?

I'm thinking the 4 Semi-finalists will be England, Ireland, NZ and South Africa.

He's certainly right about Parra...He is an awesome SH and he makes France tick..When he is in the groove France are a different animal altogether! If I was a french fan i would like to see Rougerie back in the set up too!

Morgan Parra (in February) and Francois Trinh-Duc (from October to March) were injured so they could not play in the 6 Nations. Conor O'Shea might not know that :o)

I believe that Ireland can finally reach the semi-finals, whatever team they play. They were very closed to beat the All Blacks twice (2 points difference) the last times, once in Ireland and once in New Zealand, and they should win against Argentina.

Apologies for that mate. I did mean to say home nation teams

Allow me to nit pick if you will, we don't really consider ourselves a UK team, but that said yeah, best of luck to all the home nations.

For such a young guy he seems to have a very good tactical head on him. I just wish that he used it against Ireland, Zebu was not the weak point in that team; in fact, I can;t see one in the current Irish set up.

Good luck to all of the UK teams, and good luck to everybody else. My the best prevail.

    I can't wait.

After a very impressive Six Nations he certainly has the potential and a platform to prove he can compete with the World's elite - it's going to be great to watch, can't wait!
