Peter O'Mahony and Gavin Coombes combine for an all time falcon

Munster icon and current Ireland captain Peter O'Mahony is renowned as one of rugby's toughest warriors with a seemingly otherworldly ability to push through the physical demands of professional rugby.

Even still, the 34-year-old had to wince as his clearing kick against the Northampton Saints went awry.

Under all sorts of pressure from the on-rushing Saints defence, O'Mahony took the less conventional route of putting boot to ball.

Unfortunately for O'Mahony and, more importantly, his Munster backrow colleague Gavin Coombes, the attempt was less than successful.

Merely minding his own business as he ran back to support O'Mahony, the man from Skibbereen would be on the receiving end of a full-force 'falcon'.

Dropping as if a sniper had hit him, Coombes took a ball to the crown jewels that had both him and O'Mahony wincing.

As the ball rebounded back into play, there was no time for sentiments in the moment.

Fortunately for Munster, they would find touch with a more successful clearance kick, and O'Mahony got to apologise to his colleague.
