Ireland Stun New Zealand In Dunedin

Andy Farrell’s Ireland have created history as the first Irish team to beat the All Blacks in New Zealand.

New Zealand found themselves on the wrong side of referee Jaco Peyper’s whistle. Firstly, it was Leicester Fainga’anuku who was sent to the sinbin for a high tackle on Mack Hansen.

Next up it would be prop Angus Ta’avao who saw a red card for his head-to-head contact with Garry Ringrose.

Ringrose was forced from the field of play to be replaced by Bundee Aki who was sensational with several strong carries.

Ireland wouldn’t escape Peyper’s whistle either as James Ryan was shown a yellow for repeated infringements on the Irish line just before half time.

The result is a significant milestone for Irish Rugby ahead of next year’s World Cup.

With a deciding test still to come next weekend it is all to play for. Ireland however might be without captain Jonathan Sexton who limped off with ten minutes to go.
