Striking for the men in green was highly touted back row Sean Edogbo, who is the younger brother of Munster's breakthrough secondrow talent Edwin, who burst down the right-hand touchline to score Ireland's only try of the second half.
Showing his dynamism, Edogbo left the Italian cover defence in his wake before barging over one final tackler to score the decisive try.
