It's European Cup Finals week!

Let's sack off those Monday blues and check out what we've got to look forward to this weekend!

It's been the first real season back for fans being allowed back in stadiums, and as a result, we've been treated to some truly tremendous rugby this year!

None more so than the glittering stars showing their magic in the highest of European competitions.

It all comes to fruition across the coming weekend, with the Challenge Cup Final taking place on Friday evening UK time of 8 pm, and the Champions Cup lighting up our screens at 4:45 pm UK time on Saturday.

First up it's the all-French affair at the Stade VĂ©lodrome in Marseille, between Lyon and Toulon.

Lyon have made their first European final in the history of their club, and the first final in any competition since 1933. To say this is a big day for their fans would be an understatement.

Lyon pushed past Wasps in a spirited display in the semi-finals to the jubilation of many, so expect them to be fully up for the occasion.

Toulon on the other hand, find themselves in the final of a competition they lost in 2020 at the hands of the Bristol Bears. The previous Champions cup winners will be looking to go one better this time, and take the title for themselves.

The Saturday will see the very best in European rugby battle for the top prize. The Irish outfit Leinster will travel to France to take on the ever-exciting La Rochelle.

Leinster have been playing arguably the most convincing rugby in the competition to date. The four-times winners of the cup disposed of English league leaders Leicester in comfortable fashion in the semi-final.

Certainly favourites to claim a joint-record five championship wins, the Dublin-based side will be hard to stop.

Their challenger, La Rochelle, are by no means a walkover though. Sitting fourth in the top 14, they are well known to flourish when it comes to attacking rugby.

So if the game opens up it could very well become a free for all.
