Jamison Gibson-Park scores a scintillating opening half hattrick

Leinster Rugby have recovered from a strong start by the Leicester Tigers in their Investec Champions Cup round of 16 knockout match.

Rebounding from an early try scored by double World Cup winner Handre Pollard, Leinster have scored three scintilating tries to go with a Ross Byrne penalty and now leads 22 - 10.

Finishing off all three tries was scrumhalf Jamison Gibson-Park, who ran the perfect scrumhalf support lines to dot down.

Playing a major role in both of the opening two tries was arguably Irish Rugby's most exciting talent, Joe McCarthy, who burst through the Tiger's defence.

The powerhouse secondrow picked up where he left off in the Six Nations and will no doubt continue to play a big role if Leinster are to go on and win.

The third try was created by a perfect line from young centre Jamie Osbourne who cut straight through the heart of the Tigers midfield before finding Gibson-Park on his inside.

Should Leinster win the match they will set up a replay of the last two finals against La Rochelle who defeated the Stormers 22 - 21 in Cape Town earlier today.
