Jean-Philippe Viard hit on Benoit Baby

Clermont got over their disappointment of losing to Sale last weekend by producing a nail biting 24-19 win over Montauban in the Pool A Heineken Cup encounter on Sunday.

Napolioni Nalaga got the visitors off to a flying start by crossing the tryline in the second minute, with Alexandre Audebert adding a second try twenty minutes later.

Four Petre Mitu penalties kept Montauban in touch though before a Antoine Battut gave his side the lead at halftime.

The flying Fijian Nalaga grabbed his second with only seven minutes remaining though, taking the lead and allowing Clermont to keep their European hopes alive.

One of the more painful looking hits in the match was on Clermonts fullback Benoit Baby, who was taken midkick by Montaubans Jean-Philippe Viard.

Baby stayed down for some time afterwards, understandably as he was taken off balance in the air by Viard, who was probably committed to the tackle.

While there is probably a split second when Viard could have

possibly

pulled out of it, he chose not to, following through as he drove Baby into the ground hard, clearly winding him.

For the pure

Arghh thats gotta hurt

factor, we thought that this short clip would be worth sharing.
