Ireland will be without key names for their clash with England.
Although France are in control of the championship having not one a game and eyes on a grand slam, Ireland would still like to think that they’re still in the hunt. France haven’t won the championship since 2010 and they’d like to think this is their year. Ireland will be hoping for a slip up from France against Wales tomorrow night or against England in the final game of the championship.
Ireland this morning named a strong team to face the 2019 Rugby World Cup finalists. England lost their opening game of the championship to Scotland, losing the Calcutta cup for the second year in a row. The game ended 20-17 to Scotland, with England giving away a penalty try with 15 minutes left on the clock to level the game.
Following Ireland’s 57-6 defeat of Italy at the Aviva, Andy Farrell has made plenty of changes to his side. Johnny Sexton returns alongside Peter O’Mahony, Bundee Aki, James Ryan and Andrew Conway. James Lowe retained his spot on the left wing alongside Andrew Conway on the right. Mack Hansen, who was player of the match against Wales and scored a stunning try against France, has been dropped. Hansen has not been included by Andy Farrell on the bench either.
Robbie Henshaw who made his first start for Ireland since the 2021 Six Nations, against Italy has retained his starting jersey with Bundee Aki getting the nod over him.
