Kolisi gives emotional speech on behalf of South Africa after final whistle

Springbok captain Siya Kolisi addressed his nation in an emotional speech following his side’s World Cup triumph on Saturday.

South Africa beat England 32-12 in Yokohama to win their third World Cup title and in a post match interview, Kolisi said words which will go down in history.

“I was grateful for this team, which has been through so many challenges,” said Kolisi. “The people of South Africa got behind us and we’re so grateful for that.

“There are so many problems in our country, but we have a team like this from different backgrounds and different ethnicities who all had the same goal which they wanted to achieve.

“I really hope we’ve done this for South Africa to show that we can all pull together to achieve something.”

Kolisi is South Africa’s first ever black captain making this World Cup victory an iconic moment for South Africa.
