Lock Tom Savage's huge hit on opposite number Dom Barrow

The Leicester Tigers beat Gloucester 19-18 away at Kingsholm on Saturday, but this passage of play will be one that the home crowd will have enjoyed in particular, despite it being all about defence.

The cherry and whites had their backs to the wall after a great run by Matthew Tait down the left flank, but wing David Halaifonua made a courageous try saving tackle, injuring himself in the process, before Tom Savage made an almighty crunching hit on opposite number Dom Barrow.

While it was a bit of a double hit, Savage provided much of the impetus and the impact was huge.

Gloucester ended up losing Ben Morgan to the sinbin, but they saved a certain try thanks to some manful defence. We'll have more from this match soon.

    That was a beauty.
Nice run by Tait but he completely butchered the try-scoring opportunity - could have given it to the winger just before or even during the tackle. And the 6 was another option on his other shoulder.
Delighted that he did cock it up though, otherwise we wouldn't have had Savage's tackle to enjoy.
