Lyon's Page-Relo sparks hope with controversial try amid Bulls dominance

French Top 14 outfit Lyon currently trails South African United Rugby Championship side the Vodacom Bulls 40 - 19 at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

Struggling to contain the ultra-physical Bulls, Lyon have struck on the rare occasion when they are in the ascendancy.

The first of their three tries came courtesy of some quicking from Italian international scrumhalf Martin Page-Relo.

Catching the Bulls napping, the nippy nine took a quick tap to scoot over untouched. The try itself was somewhat controversial, given both sides appeared to medical staff on the pitch at the time.

The try was thoroughly reviewed, and as such, referee Luke Pearce awarded the five points.

Next up for the visitors was a penalty try as Springbok star Canan Moodie was shown a yellow card for a high tackle.

Adjudging that Moodie stopped a certain try, Pearce and his team awarded the full seven points to bring Lyon right back into the contest.

Whilst Lyon has shown plenty of heart to remain in the contest, they have struggled to hold off the Bulls, who have responded every time the French side has scored.
