Malakai Fekitoa put in yet another top-shelf performance for Toulon's 33-3 home win over Agen at the weekend. Fekitoa was all over the park, first setting up this Josua Tuisova try then later in the match, Julian Savea returned the favour with his own brilliant assist for Fekitoa's try.
For the second week in a row, Fekitoa executed a magnificent try assist - again to Tuisova. Last week, he chased down a kick, leaping over the dead ball line to save possession for Tuisova to score.
This week, Fekitoa found the scoring machine out the back door with a nice, no-look offload and Tuisova provided the rest. It turned out to be a banner day for multiple former All Blacks. Liam Messam also got in on the scoring with his try in the first half.
Performances like this will only look to further speculation that a move back to New Zealand may be in the cards for the midfielder. He recently indicated that his game has gotten a much-needed shot in the arm while playing in France.
"Now I'm older, I've learned to have a life balance. I just wish I knew what I know now," Fekitoa told the Herald. "The way I approach things now is different from before. That's why I believe I'm better because I'm more comfortable.
"I have a plan, and in the next few months, it will come out. I can stay here and play as long as I can, or I return home and take what I've learned. As you get older, you grow and get better as a midfielder. Most people wouldn't believe that but I believe in myself and if I work hard, I know anything is possible."
Despite the win, Toulon have now won just two from five. Things only get tougher with top-of-the-table Clermont up next.
