MASSIVE BRAWL Erupts As Munster See Off Northampton In Fiery Champions Cup Clash

Irish powerhouse Munster rebounded from their opening round loss to Toulouse by keeping Northampton Saints tryless at Franklin's Gardenless.

Whilst the performance was by no means polished for Munster it was certainly dogged as they simply would not allow the Saints to cross their line.

As the action continued to heat up, Munster were shown three yellow cards whilst the Saints received one of their own.

Proceedings reached a boiling point 15 minutes into the second half as the game erupted into a giant brawl.

In scenes that would’ve looked more at home in the late 1990s, the two teams squared up for an almighty battle.

With so much action going on, the referee in a rather head scratching manner only displayed two yellow cards to the two players who began the scuffle.

As Lewis Ludlam and Jack O’Donoghue departed the field a number of other players would’ve been breathing a sigh of relief.

Munster would go on to shutout the Saints to pick up a valuable 17 – 6 to get their European campaign back on track.
