Melbourne Rebels do their best to wreck Bryn Gatland

Bryn Gatland displayed some extraordinary toughness against the Melbourne Rebels as the fly half was on the receiving end of some heavy blows in the Chiefs 36-26 win.

First up was Rebels flanker Michael Wells, who wasn't sold on Gatland's dummy. Instead, the big man planted his shoulder square in Gatland's mid-section, dumping him hard on the turf.

It was a textbook tackle that was both hard and more importantly, legal, showing such things are still possible.

Later in the match, it was Marika Koroibete's turn to have a go. Gatland followed his own kick downfield, only to find the nightmare scenario of a fully-charging Koroibete with a full head of steam.

However, all credit is due to the fly half for bravely standing his ground and making the tackle.
